As we are still licking our wounds from Sandy’s wreckage, we must continue “marketing as usual”. The reality is that, lots has been lost, but much has been gained within all the industries. As I drove around this morning, I’ve notice everyone jumping on the band wagon of fuel being limited and yes it has, due to everyone rushing to fill up their tanks. The marketing strategy of the media worked out for the oil industries’ supply and demands worries, we have made it easier for them to say, now there’s a shortage of fuel locally, but not nationally. In the past week the surplus of oil increased and demand decreased so by this law, prices of gasoline were supposed to drop, did they? I saw more than 40 cars waiting for gas services around the areas of Westchester, NY. Why did I choose this as an example, because the gas stations in the past week have been suffering from customers not stopping by to fill up their gases and now with one day of somewhat normality, they made it up the revenue lost and plus more. Now they’re in a position to maintain pricing at the same or higher, because the shortage of gas locally has decreased, what a smart strategy the media play the night before to have customers lined up for blocks to fill up their gases.
